Area and Accomodation

Crawley, Gatwick and Area:

Crawley is halfway between London and the south coast on the M23 motorway.

London Gatwick Airport is 10 minutes north of Crawley by car.

The main railway line from London Victoria station goes through Gatwick, Horley and Crawley (Three Bridges Station). The main Crawley railway station is a branch line and receives fewer trains from London than Three Bridges.

The nearest towns are Horley (N), East Grinstead (E) and Horsham (W). Each is about 15 minutes from Crawley by car.

Airports:

If you take a taxi from Gatwick airport to Crawley or Horley using a number from this page, it will cost £10-15. If you take an airport taxi, it will cost £15-20.

London Heathrow Airport is 1-2 hours from Crawley by car. It is longer by train and involves walking through the London Underground (Metro) and changing trains. The cheapest and easiest way to get to Gatwick from Heathrow is by coach. This costs about £30 each way per person. The other London airports are not nearby and you should avoid using them (City Airport, Luton, Stanstead).
